How Do I Order and Get my Designs?

  As you shop, add the design sets you wish to purchase to your shopping cart--make sure to select the correct embroidery machine format for each set you select. You'll be able to view your chopping cart as  you go along and remove items if you wish. If your items disappear from your cart during the checkout process, make sure that "cookies" are enabled on your internet browser.

   Once you are finished, click the "check out" button at the bottom of your shopping cart and you'll be directed to log into your Jolson's designs account or create a new account if you don't already have one. If you are creating a new account make sure you use the same billing address information that you will use when making your PayPal payment as PayPal verifies the two match before authorizing payment. Also make sure the the email address you use has customerservice@jolsonsdesigns.com added to your address book as emails regarding your order may be delivered into your spam/junk folder otherwise.  Once logged in, you'll be shown an invoice with your selections to review then just click on "pay now" and you will be redirected to PayPal's secure payment center to make your payment.

   Once your PayPal payment is complete your design sets are ready for you to download. Just return to www.jolsonsdesigns.com by using the back button or re-entering the web address and click on the "Download Product Files" button near the bottom left. Login and your download list will appear--just click on the file name under the 'file' column for each design set to download that set. Download links are automatically set for one download during completion of the transaction, however, as I review orders throughout the day I reset the download links for multiple downloads in case you lose the file and need to re-download.

I emailed you and haven't received a response...why?

  Please check your spam/junk folder for misdirected emails from Jolson's Designs. You should add customerservice@jolsonsdesigns.com to your address book and indicate that emails from that address are allowed as some ISP's, particularly Yahoo, flag my emails as spam.

Do all Orders have immediate download available?

 Most are except for the following two types of transactions;

      If you included the CD S/H charge your order is pending until processed for shipping, after which your download links will be available. Orders are processed within a few hours during normal business hours and first thing the next morning for overnight orders.

      PayPal payments made using a bank account, referred to as eCheck by PayPal, take 3-5 days to transfer funds as opposed to Debit/Credit card  payments which transfer funds immediatley. Orders using eCheck PayPal payments automatically go into a holding queue pending funds transfer, however I always go in and authorize the order without waiting for funds transfer. Files are ready for download after authorization which occurs within a few hours during normal business hours and first thing the next morning for overnight orders.

How do I use the designs on my embroidery machine?

 All of my design sets are pre-digitized. Font sets ARE NOT keyboard fonts that you can type in. Each letter or number is an individual design file. In border sets each border part is an individual file as well. In order to combine letters to make words or to combine border parts to make borders, it is necessary to have embroidery editing/layout software. There are many software options available online at www.embird.com, www.allbrands.com and by searching for 'embroidery software'. Please note that some editing/layout software allows you to enlarge or decrease the size of an embroidery file; you may do so but please be aware that stitch quality may be compromised. All designs are test stitched before being offered to sell. For the best quality stitch out, it is necessary to use the proper stabilizer for your garment and an appropriate finish thread and bobbin thread set to the correct tension in order to avoid fabric pull and misaligned parts. I also highly recommend getting involved with www.sewforum.com, a large community of embroidery/sewing hobbyists and professionals that are always eager to help out with any information they can provide.

SatinFill Stitch. What is that?

  As shown above: standard fill stitch stitches back and forth in the same direction until the stitch area is filled in; Satin stitch stitches perpendicular to the column in long single stitches changing direction as the column does: SatinFill stitches in the same manner as Satin Stitch but uses multiple stitches across the column rather than long single stitches. It's technically called auto column pattern fill by most digitizing software---SatinFill is my short description. I generally use SatinFill when doing fonts that won't be outline stitched and are too large for traditional satin stitch----it gives a more finished look than standard fill stitch.

I don't see the machine format that I require; do you carry it?

 I list all sets in the 7 most requested formats; pes, xxx, jef, sew, vip, dst and hus. I can convert any of my sets to nearly 40 other formats. Please send me an email by clicking on the "Email Customer Support" button to the left to find out if I can convert to your particular format. If I can convert to  your format, I'll be glad to do so and will provide more information by email regarding completeing your order. PLEASE NOTE Bernina's ART format is not available.

I need to redownload my designs but the download links are not there...what do I do?

 Download links are automatically set to allow one successful download. Your download link can be reset so that you can redownload you product files. Just click on the "Email Customer Support" button to the left and request that I reset your download links.

Is your website secure? Is my payment information secure?

  My website is hosted by Prostores (an Ebay Company) and uses their encryption certificate which is issued to store01.prostores.com and is issued by VeriSign Class 3 Secure Server CA.  The security lock icon only displays when the URL for the website matches that with which the certificate is issued; however no financial institution information is entered or stored on my website as you are redirected to PayPal to complete payment. Here's how it works;
1. Your Registered account on Jolson's Designs requires only physical address information to be entered. That information is verified for security purposes by paypal when completing your order.
2. Add items to your shopping cart and go to 'check out'. After reviewing your order, click on 'pay now' and you will be redirected to PayPal to complete your payment. Paypal uses 128bit encryption and you'll see the security lock icon on that page. You can checkout with paypal without establishing a Paypal account by clicking on the "continue" link near the bottom left of the payment page next to where it says "don't have a Paypal account?".

What are your operating hours?

 Jolson's Designs is a one man business operated out of my home.....that's how I keep prices low. As such I try to keep my operating hours flexible to be available for customer assistance. Generally between 8am till Midnight I am monitoring and responding to sales and inquiries. Even with some "out of office" interruptions I generally reply to inquiries and review orders within a couple of hours if not right away during those hours. Overnight orders and Inquires received between Midnight and 8am are reviewed and responded to after 8am.
